Suited and Booted

I'm sorry for my lack of posts recently, the last couple of weeks have been my busiest yet. I’ve just been offered a new job, sold my car, bought a car, found a new apartment…you get the point. My blogroll is full of amazing posts and pictures showing me just what I've been missing!

This week I found out the dress code for my new job is ‘smart casual’, pretty ambiguous yes?! What does smart casual actually mean? Searching Google I found these examples, check this one out! Thanks Google, you've been no help at all unless I fancy rocking up in a camel coloured suit or pink polo neck. You see the fashion brand I'm going to be working for has a completely mixed approach to dress code, some are fully suited and booted, some in jeans. It doesn't help when my interviewer had a lovely casual dress at the first interview and a formal black skirt and shirt at the next. Arghh! When you've been able to wear almost anything for the last 2 years, smart clothes are a scary option, it’s so hard to put your own stamp on it! So  I’ve been scoring the internet for possible inspiration; So here's my suited and booted Asos, Topshop and Boohoo wishlist!

Ebay Listings...Finally

It's been a long time since I actually listed items in my Ebay Shop. Work is literally taking over my life and with Christmas, birthdays and social gatherings galore I haven't been able to list a single thing. Silly really since my shop was the reason I started to blog in the first place! On the plus side there is definitely no need for a trip to the wholesalers, I have endless bags crammed with items that are desperate for a new home.

So this is the weekend I stop being so lazy and actually list new items, here is a sneak peak of a couple of items I have already taken pictures for. Expect to see a lot of midi dresses, pastels, oversized shirts, polka dots and bright collared shirts. Sorry the pictures are rubbish this time round, I am desperately trying to find a new model for the next lot, my friends are all being camera shy so I have no choice but to take the pictures on Betty (Yes I have named my dressmakers doll...don't ask). I am looking at starting to selling on Asos Marketplace as soon as I find a model so watch this space!

Steal her style

My style inspiration this week is the lovely Lydia Bright! What an essex reality star?!' Yes, but Lydia Bright isn’t your average Essex girl. She shuns prema tans, miniskirts and white stiletto’s for perfect pale skin, statement red lipstick and an adventurous spin on TOWIE style.  Although her style is more high maintenance and a lot cleaner than mine (I can’t see her rocking 90s grunge) I still love her vintage inspired dresses, pencil skirts and tapered trousers!

I saw Lydia wearing this dress on Sunday’s TOWIE and after a quick search on the internet I found it on owntherunway.com for a snip at £29.99! I’m proud of my roots so I love this Manchester based company, we have so many good retailers coming through Boohoo, Misguided and GlamorousUK to name a few. I can’t wait for it to arrive! I hate my arms so I’ve been looking for a longer sleeved midi for ages! If you see any nice one’s please let me know!

Style Award Picks!

So last night saw some of the most stylish female celebrities take to the red carpet for the Elle Style Awards

Leading the fashion pack and presenting the awards was the endlessly stylish Alexa Chung, rocking a full on androgynous suit! I love the mod inspired lapel!

As I don't wear trousers myself ( I haven't for over 7 years now) Its not my favourite Alexa Chung get up but there's no denying she wears it well! Although it doesn't quite compare to some of her previous choices.

Last night definitely brought to the limelight some lesser known style icons that dared to take a risk! I love Alexandra Roach's oversized and minimalist dress, its perfect for spring with some neon accessories. She may be appearing in a style inspiration post soon..watch this space!

Alternative Valentines Wishlist

With only 4 days to go before Valentines Day I thought I would write a little alternative valentines wish list to give my/our boyfriends a little inspiration! It’s really difficult to find truly unique or vintage valentine’s gifts; you have to trawl through masses of tacky teddies, chocolates and roses to find anything with an ounce of meaning. I love the kind of gifts your other half has put a bit of effort into finding, something you can treasure and a present that reflects you as a person.  For all those single ladies, Valentines Day is the best excuse to treat yourself, and with all these cute heart print around who could say no?!

Rock n Roller

I'm really excited as tonight I'm going to see the amazing Willy Moon. If you haven't already heard of him, he's going to be big, remember you heard it here first!

He effortlessly combines rock and roll rifts with a hip-hop beat.... yes together just watch

It’s not just his completely original music style I love, it’s the entire look. Slicked back hair, sharp 3 piece suite and perfect northern soul dance moves.  I’ve always been a sucker for a well dressed, vintage inspired man who dares to be different and Willy Moon is definitely that!

I'm sorry I've been unable to try my pastel hair colour yet from my previous post, its going to have wait until this weekend. I have some really exciting news coming soon hopefully & this is the reason its been delayed!
