Suited and Booted

I'm sorry for my lack of posts recently, the last couple of weeks have been my busiest yet. I’ve just been offered a new job, sold my car, bought a car, found a new apartment…you get the point. My blogroll is full of amazing posts and pictures showing me just what I've been missing!

This week I found out the dress code for my new job is ‘smart casual’, pretty ambiguous yes?! What does smart casual actually mean? Searching Google I found these examples, check this one out! Thanks Google, you've been no help at all unless I fancy rocking up in a camel coloured suit or pink polo neck. You see the fashion brand I'm going to be working for has a completely mixed approach to dress code, some are fully suited and booted, some in jeans. It doesn't help when my interviewer had a lovely casual dress at the first interview and a formal black skirt and shirt at the next. Arghh! When you've been able to wear almost anything for the last 2 years, smart clothes are a scary option, it’s so hard to put your own stamp on it! So  I’ve been scoring the internet for possible inspiration; So here's my suited and booted Asos, Topshop and Boohoo wishlist!

Alternative Valentines Wishlist

With only 4 days to go before Valentines Day I thought I would write a little alternative valentines wish list to give my/our boyfriends a little inspiration! It’s really difficult to find truly unique or vintage valentine’s gifts; you have to trawl through masses of tacky teddies, chocolates and roses to find anything with an ounce of meaning. I love the kind of gifts your other half has put a bit of effort into finding, something you can treasure and a present that reflects you as a person.  For all those single ladies, Valentines Day is the best excuse to treat yourself, and with all these cute heart print around who could say no?!

Shoe Porn

One can never have too many shoes... Loving the new flatforms about at the moment, I've got a feeling they might actually take off this season!

Coat Lust

I am on the hunt!! It's November and I've still to invest in my winter coat. It's the perfect accessory, you can hide a multitude of fashion sins and really make a statement!  Here are my top five picks for autumn/winter 11…

As you can see a coat is not a coat this season without fur, fur and more fur.

Memo To Self

I have been thinking about the content of my blog and have decided that a weekly wish list would  be a good idea, mainly so I don't forget about the things I want (the list is ever growing). I thought what better 'memo to self' than in my blog. Here is what I'm wishing for this week.......

Pamela Love Talon Cuff available from www.pamelalovenyc.com/

Jeffrey Campbell Lita's available at http://www.solestruck.com

American Apparel Blouse available at www.americanapparel.co.uk

Pamela Love jewellery is on the top of my stocking list. I love the gothic elements in something so pretty, come to think of it I love anything girly with a rock and roll edge.
Jeffrey Campbell's Lita shoes are something I intend to buy this week. These are perfect for jazzing up any old Christmas party dress and are definitely a must have for any wardrobe. They also have a leopard print peep toe wedge that are equally as fabulous!
The American Apparel blouses are gorgeous, I have the tan version but I would happily buy them in every colour. There so comfy and go with anything, I'm planning on wearing mine with a tie neck, bow tie or my ASOS sequinned collar.
