70's Glam

There is nothing better than a good movie for great style inspiration, so this evening I watched The Runaways. Featuring IT girls of the moment Kirsten Stewart and Dakota Fanning, this great film doesn’t not fail to impress. Based on a 70s all- girl band, their cool 70s rock chick style is perfect for the new A/W 70s Glam trend.

This is the best time of year to make a statement with eye catching jewellery, footwear and trashy prints so think leather, sequins, leopard print, glitter and studs. All the items you see are from Topshop.

Perfect Peter

A little while back I came across the new Tocca Fall lookbook while browsing around on tumblr. As soon as i laid my eyes on the look above, complete with a perfect vintage-inspired coat, peter pan collar, and fuzzy little cap, i fell in love. It’s no coincidence, the new designer at tocca is none other than Emma Fletcher (the former designer of the now defunct label, lyell). This season has plenty of looks to love: from the thick wool coats to the pretty scalloped shorts, and delicate silk and lace details.

As my upcoming Ebay collections centre around Peter Pan collars, lace and thick wool coats this is perfect inspiration for any would be Vintagesayyeah customer.

Memo To Self

I have been thinking about the content of my blog and have decided that a weekly wish list would  be a good idea, mainly so I don't forget about the things I want (the list is ever growing). Pamela Love jewellery is on the top of my stocking list. I love the gothic elements in something so pretty, come to think of it I love anything girly with a rock and roll edge.

Jeffrey Campbell's Lita shoes are something I intend to buy this week. These are perfect for jazzing up any old Christmas party dress and are definitely a must have for any wardrobe. They also have a leopard print peep toe wedge that are equally as fabulous!

The American Apparel blouses are gorgeous, I have the tan version but I would happily buy them in every colour. There so comfy and go with anything, I'm planning on wearing mine with a tie neck, bow tie or my ASOS sequinned collar.

Size? re-release Adidas Malmo

My love of all things vintage doesn’t stop at what I can fit my own little peepers into. With my boyfriend’s birthday coming up and I think I’ve just found the perfect present!  Part of the adidas City Series from the late ’70s and early ’80s, the Malmö is one of the hidden gems from the brand’s archives and is due to be released this Autumn!. Finished in mustard suede with blue stripes to reflect the Swedish national colours, he’s going to love them. I just hope they aren’t as ‘limited edition’ as his Dublin’s, I don’t quite fancy the four hour wait outside size? to grab a pair!

Could A/W 2011 look any better?

           

So the Summer sales have been and gone, and even though my floppy hat and espadrilles have yet to make an appearance I am already excited about the Autumn/Winter collections trickling through! Vintage has always been my passion, midi granny dresses and mod influences have been stables in my wardrobe for years. So I can't believe my luck with Topshop's new mod squad collection and ASOS's lady like midi designs! I've already started my Autumn wishlist, this is what I'll be wearing.
